Petro B. Boyko

Ukrainian avant-garde artist, known for his unique style and bright works.

Born on April 25, 1954 in the city of Pryluky, Chernihiv region.

In his youth, he was part of the hippie movement and traveled a lot. Due to his rebellious anti-Soviet behavior, he was repeatedly detained by law enforcement agencies and the KGB.

Since 1992, he has been actively participating in regional and national art exhibitions. Personal exhibitions have been held in Chernihiv, Kyiv, and Odessa.

In his work, Petro Boyko combines elements of different styles, in particular avant-garde and modernism, creating unique and recognizable images. His works are distinguished by bright colors and expressiveness, which gives them special emotional power.

In 2024, the artist celebrated his 70th anniversary with a series of anniversary exhibitions, at which he presented new works created recently. These paintings are full of optimism and faith in the future. Petro Boyko continues to actively create, inspiring many art lovers with his creativity and vital energy.

"Antiquarian" No. 137

The magazine "Antiquarian" has released a special issue No. 137 entitled "Talents and Fans", the main theme of which was the figure of Petro Boyko. This issue became an important event in the cultural life of Ukraine, emphasizing the significance of the artist's work and his contribution to the development of national art.

Catalog "Cinema in My Head"

A catalog of the works of art by Petro Boyko entitled "Cinema in My Head" was presented in December 2024 during the project of the same name in the Kyiv House of Cinema. The publication contains over 300 works by the artist and is available in four languages, and also has a limited edition of copies with the master's original works.

Exhibition "Cinema in My Head"

In December 2024, the Kyiv House of Cinema hosted a presentation of the project "Cinema in My Head", dedicated to the work of Ukrainian artist Petro Boyko. This event combined several events: the opening of an exhibition of the artist's paintings, the premiere of a short film and the presentation of a catalog of his works.

The film "Cinema in My Head"

A short feature film dedicated to the Ukrainian artist Petro Boyko. The filming took place in an unusual place – an abandoned tuberculosis dispensary on Pechersk in Kyiv. The film was directed by Georgy Dergachev. The actors were the artist himself, visitors to the exhibition and the dog Lyusya.
