Art plein air "The Best Artist"
Art plein air "The Best Artist" is an international event held every year in Ukraine. Plein air unites artists from different countries for creative work, exchange of experience and conducting master classes.
The main purpose of an art plein air is as follows:
Support and development of the arts
The event supports artists and provides them with a platform to create and share experiences.
Popularization of cultural heritage
Plein air is aimed at popularizing cultural and historical places of Ukraine through their reproduction on artistic canvases, which contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage.
Charity
Some of the works created during the plein air are sold at auctions, and the collected funds go to charity projects.
International cooperation
The event unites artists from different countries, promoting international cultural exchange and mutual enrichment of artistic traditions.
Thus, the plein air "The Best Artist" not only supports artists and popularizes Ukrainian culture, but also makes an important contribution to charitable and social projects.
The plein air was held for the first time in 2017. The competition is held annually, gathering artists from different parts of Ukraine and the world to create works of art and support cultural heritage.
The outdoor program includes various creative workshops, exhibitions, lectures and seminars. One of the key events is the "Vinnytsia palette - present and past" quest, during which artists create cityscapes and images of historical places of Vinnytsia at designated locations. The open-air event ends with an exhibition of the participants' works and an award ceremony for the winners, who receive special awards.
In 2020, artists from 12 countries, including Ukraine, Poland, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and China, took part in the plein air.
A feature of the plein air in 2021 was the reproduction on canvas of portraits of prominent residents of Vinnytsia on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. These portraits were included in the collection, which aims to perpetuate prominent people of Vinnytsia and stimulate the development of the cultural potential of the region.
In 2024, the Art Plein Air "The Best Artist/The Best Artist" was held under the slogan "Places of strength of Ukraine - Vinnytsia". The event attracted artists from different parts of the country, who worked in three picturesque locations of the Vinnytsia region.
The main goal of the plein air was not only to popularize the picturesque corners of Vinnytsia, but also to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Part of the works created by the artists will be sold at auctions, and the collected funds will go to charitable contributions for the Armed Forces.
