Exhibition of paintings by Petro Boyko "Cinema in My Head" at the Kyiv Cinema House
In December 2024, the Kyiv House of Cinema hosted a presentation of the project "Cinema in My Head", dedicated to the work of Ukrainian artist Petro Boyko. This event combined several events: the opening of an exhibition of the artist's paintings, the premiere of a short film and the presentation of a catalog of his works.
Exhibition of paintings
About 30 paintings were presented at the Kyiv House of Cinema, which the artist himself refers to as the "golden series". These works, created between 1999 and 2024, are distinguished by bright colors and fantastic plots that evoke positive emotions and smiles in the audience. The exhibition was curated by Oleksiy Shakhov.
Film premiere
As part of the project, the premiere of the short feature film "Cinema in My Head", directed by Georgy Dergachev, took place. The film was created in an unusual place - an abandoned tuberculosis dispensary in Pechersk, where an exhibition of Petr Boyko's works had previously been held. The film was filmed by the artist himself, visitors to the exhibition, and even the dog Lyusya, who lives near the dispensary.
Presentation of the catalog and magazine
During the event, a catalog of Petr Boyko's works was presented, published in four languages: Ukrainian, English, German, and French. The catalog contains over 300 works by the artist and a foreword by Oleksiy Shakhov.
A special issue of the magazine "Antiquarian" No. 137 was also presented, the main theme of which was the work of Petro Boyko. The limited edition of the magazine included 15 copies with the artist's original works.
This project became an important event in the cultural life of Kyiv, drawing attention to the work of Petro Boyko and his unique vision of the world.
