"Seasons of the Year" returns: a new life for the legendary panel by Viktor Blinov
On the initiative of Elmira Ettinger, Olena Borisova, a decision was made to submit an appeal to the owner of the building, the former Kyiv City Resort Balneological Hospital at the address of Kyiv, Hetman Pavla Polubotka Street, 34, where the panel of sculptor Viktor Oleksandrovych Blinov "Seasons", which consists of five elements, was located, namely to LLC "KYIVINVEST" with a request to transfer the panel to the collection of the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art.
Having received full consent and support from the representative of the building owner in the person of the director of LLC "KYIVINVEST" Nadiya Zasenko and her first assistant Bohdan Pinchuk, as well as the representative of the museum in the person of the director of the museum Strokova Lyudmila, the initiative group turned to the association of art historians, experts, appraisers and restorers for support and implementation of the project. The association conducted legal approval, dismantled the panel and placed it for temporary storage. During the project, a joint decision was made on the initiative of the rector of the National Academy of Culture and Arts Valeriy Vitaliyovych Marchenko, and a memorandum was signed, as a result of which, in the restoration workshop equipped at the academy, restoration work on the above-mentioned panel will be carried out.
The restoration process will include an educational process, on the basis of which students of the academy will participate in restoration practices under the supervision of professional restorers, the educational process includes lectures, practical work, as well as discussion platforms that allow gathering a wide range of professionals and specialists to discuss and create practices for preserving the cultural heritage of Ukraine.
After the restoration, the panel will enter the museum collection, taking its place in the cultural space of the country.
