Half a century of experience is only half the journey
Leonid Nahirnyak's exhibition "0.5 | Half" is a personal gesture, a designation of a limit, which is at the same time a threshold. The name, like a certain formula: half a century of experience, and at the same time - only half the way. Not everything has been said, not everything has been drunk, and not everything has been done. This exhibition is like a ceramic fracture, where tradition and experiment meet halfway, where the past is not denied, but becomes the ground for the new. This is a pause between inhalation and exhalation, the completion of one stage and the opening of another, a moment of rethinking, when the artist looks back to move on in search of a new language, new plasticity, new truth.
Ceramic artist, member of the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine (2003), the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2021), Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine (2007), teacher of the Mykhailo Boychuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design Leonid Nahirnyak celebrates his 50th anniversary with a creative report at the National Museum of Decorative Arts of Ukraine.
