Honoring the female image

In March 2019, the National Museum “Kyiv Art Gallery” hosted an exhibition of paintings and graphics by Valery Geghamyan entitled “She Feels Like a Goddess”. The event became a landmark cultural phenomenon in the artistic life of the capital, dedicated to the study of the female image in the artist’s work and his deep rethinking of traditional ideas about femininity in art.

The exhibition presented the most complete collection of female images in the work of Valery Geghamyan, including the legendary series "Ballet", previously unpublished portraits and large-format graphics. The project "She Feels Like a Goddess" was conceived as a manifesto of the diversity of external and internal manifestations of femininity. Timeless, with a precisely found degree of convention, the images refute the established canons and stereotypes of the depiction of women.

This exhibition became an important event in Ukrainian artistic life, emphasizing the significance of the female image in the work of Valery Geghamyan and contributing to the discussion of gender equality in art. It also noted the artist's contribution to the development of Ukrainian fine art and his ability to rethink traditional themes through the prism of modernity.

The exhibition lasted from March 5 to 17, 2019, providing visitors with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the deep and emotionally rich world of female images created by Valery Geghamyan.
